Windows Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app
Recently I was stuck into a problem with installing an application on my Windows Server 2019 and I saw an unusual pop-up saying that ‘Windows defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app.
The worst part was that there was nothing relevant in ‘More Info’ and I could only select Don’t Run.
It was frustrating and couldn’t figure out how to fix the problem. I tried to google it multiple times to find something relevant, however, didn’t come across any similar issues.
Finally, I was able to find the solution and I’ll share it with you guys:
- Right-click on the application and go to properties.
- Unblock the application for the Security check-box displayed on the bottom of the application.
